Nail struck squarely upon the head! Well done! Amazing capture of the attitudes of the 'fresh outs' in their new positions of power!

Management gave a 'fresh out' an assignment last week. Spent time explaining how the work should be performed since that individual had absolutely no experience. Mapped it out. The result? The output was totally ficticious, ignoring all of the advice and examples given.

Since management picked that individual for a reason, we'll be good little minions and let that individual proceed. Just like the video - be a team player - liberally translated from Latin - You do what you are told and keep your mouth shut, we will tell you what to think and when!

This is what you get after thirty years of painstakingly educating idiots with TV.

If this isn't a crisis, what is?

Within 2 days, calculation of the Sputnik Orbit (joint work by UIUC Astronomy Dept. and Digital Computer Lab).

By February 1958, the political and defense communities had recognized the need for a high-level Department of Defense organization to execute R&D projects and created the Advanced Research Projects Agency, which later became the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency or DARPA.

On July 29, 1958, President Dwight D. Eisenhower formally brought the U.S. into the Space Race by signing the National Aeronautics and Space Act, creating NASA and later Project Mercury.

Education programs initiated to foster a new generation of engineers. One of the more remarkable and remembered things that came out of this was the concept of "New Math".

Dramatically increased support for scientific research. For 1959, Congress increased the National Science Foundation appropriation to $134 million, almost $100 million higher than the year before. By 1968, the NSF budget would stand at nearly $500 million.

And what do we get out of the gate?

More 'Faith Based Initiatives'.

Happy Birthday Charles Darwin.

I think this is how great organizations fail. People behave like robots and their brains are essentially off. Fear is their sole motivation.

As a taxpayer I strongly recommend that individuals like this be handed their walking papers so they can start a new career in HVAC work- there the rules are perfect for their brains.

On the bright side I feel less threatened by sentient robots.

I will bet even money that in 6 months
every person in this video is fired
or driven from NASA.
